Khanh Hoa, Vietnam, 22 February 2023 — ASP-eduCLaaS, (a Public Private partnership between Army Software Park, Khanh Hoa and eduCLaaS Singapore) is proud to announce its commitment to encouraging and empowering women in Vietnam in the field of Information Technology (IT). The co-branded 'ASP-eduCLaaS' offering was formed on December 1st under the Ministry of National Defence to formally launch the partnership for inclusive digital transformation in Vietnam.
Research shows that women only account for 37% of the Vietnam tech workforce, with only 21% of them holding leadership positions, compared to 38% of men. Addressing this issue, ASP-eduCLaaS partners with the local provincial government, non-government organizations, industry associations, and local agencies to create a glocalized ecosystem that provides women with more opportunities to gain technical skills and knowledge and inspires them to pursue careers in technology, making it more effective in promoting inclusivity and diversity in the tech industry.
With the goal of bringing 1000 women into the IT workforce in the Central region of Vietnam, ‘Women-in-Tech' serves as a platform to discuss and launch initiatives designed to encourage and empower women to take on more technology roles. These initiatives include encouraging girls to pursue STEM education, partnering with the industry to hire women in technology, and supporting work-life balance with remote work to bridge the gender gap and create a more diverse and inclusive tech industry in Vietnam.
ASP-eduCLaaS further supports these initiatives by offering work-integrated digital skilling programs with in-demand high-growth digital careers, work-integrated "Train and Place" digital skilling with job placement for seamless digital career induction, and remote work opportunities with international and local employers to promote work-life balance and create a more inclusive work environment. By offering this program, ASP-eduCLaaS is committed to delivering a converged future of learning and work in a glocalized post-covid digital economy.
