Lyceum of the Philippines University-Batangas (LPU-B) signed a Memorandum of Agreement with eduCLaaS Pte Ltd, the international subsidiary of Lithan Academy from Singapore, to jointly offer applied undergraduate degree CLaaS® across the Philippines.
CLaaS® delivers Competency Learning as a Service to support digital upskilling for higher education students, working adults, and enterprises in the digital economy. It adopts work-based learning pedagogy with a competency-based curriculum for blended learning journeys that deliver tangible career and business outcomes.
Under the partnership, eduCLaaS at LPU Batangas‘ campus will deliver applied degree courses with an international work-study opportunity where the learners gain up to three years of work experience before graduating.
Speaking on the occasion is Dr. Cecilia C. Pring, Vice President for Academics and Research of LPU Batangas. In her words, “LPU and Lithan eduClaaS International’s partnership came in an opportune time as we move forward to be a recognized industry-driven university in the Asia Pacific region. This is also in line with our Laurelian Learning Experience wherein students will have an active choice in completing their degrees.
The enhanced IT and Business curriculum designed from the employer's perspective will address the gap between graduate skills and industry needs. Students will be able to apply theoretical knowledge in a real-world industry environment ensuring global-ready graduates.
The program includes intense boot camp-style learning in the first year and 3 years of practical learning. This is a rare opportunity for students to finance their study through the apprenticeship program under the mentorship of industry experts in an international work environment.
We are looking forward to offering this program in the next academic year.”
eduCLaaS’s Founder and CEO, Leslie Loh had this to say about the partnership, “Modern employers require plug-and-play graduates who can be productive from the first day of the job. Our 1+3 work-study degrees deliver seamless job induction before graduation: with 1 year of intensive skills acquisition bootcamp and 3 years of on-the-job training at the workplace. Our learners are Glocal (Global yet Local) digital talents as they engage in borderless learning and working, alongside international learners and employers, supported by over 100 regional campuses from across Asia.”
He further added, “We welcome LPU-Batangas in joining our Pan-Asia eduCLaaS platform to incubate Glocal (Global yet Local) digital talents ready for growth in the post-Covid digital economy.”
