The 5th edition of the Cities 4.0 Summit was held in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia on 20-21 September 2022 with the overarching theme ‘Local Action, Global Achievement’. It aims to facilitate discussions and dialogues on strategies for developing a practical roadmap to localise the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) for local actions on smart city project implementation and monitoring.
The summit was co-organized by the Malaysian Industry-Government Group for High Technology (MIGHT) and Confexhub with eduCLaaS as the lead event sponsor.
eduCLaaS Founder and CEO, Mr. Leslie Loh delivered his plenary keynote speech entitled “Reimagining Education for Inclusive Digital Skilling” in the morning sessions after the opening ceremony by Malaysia’s Deputy Minister of Housing & Local Government, Data’Sri Dr. Haji Ismail Haji Abd. Muttalib.
Leslie shared his observation on how the pandemic has provided us the inflection point for multi-faceted integrations of our post-secondary education systems for reimagining education as a global common good, to bridge the digital divide and rising inequality in the post-covid digital economy across Asia.
Mr. Loh also shed some light on the platform-based business model and how it can be harnessed to deliver a converged future of learning and work for inclusive lifelong applied learning delivery to support smart city development.
Finally, Leslie illustrated how eduCLaaS as a Pan-Asia digital skilling platform, supported by a glocalized coalition of tripartite stakeholders from across the public, private and non-profit sectors, aims to deliver inclusive digital workforce incubation to support the implementation of ASEAN Digital Master Plan (ADM 2025) for developing ASEAN as a leading digital community and economic bloc, powered by secure and transformative digital services, technologies, and ecosystem.
